How it works

Up and knocking in three steps

  1. Set up your team

Create your company account, invite your reps by email, and draw your territories on the map.

  2. Knock and log

Reps clock in, work their turf, and log every door: the outcome, a note, and who owns the house if they need it.

  3. See the whole picture

Watch the team on a live map, check the leaderboard and session history, and work your leads.

Features

Built for the doorstep, not the desk

Everything a door-knocking team uses every day, and nothing it doesn't.

A pin on every door

A map of homes with a pin for every knock. Tap the house, pick one of 11 outcomes, add a note, and move on. Everyone on the team sees what's been worked.

  • Not Home
  • Not Interested
  • Scheduled Inspection
  • Inspected
  • No Damage
  • Lead Created
  • Sale Completed
  • Existing Customer
  • Another Company
  • No Soliciting

No double-knocking

Walk up to a house your team already knocked and TurfSignal warns you before you ring the bell again.

Clock in, route recorded

Reps clock in and out, and the route they walk is recorded while they're on the clock. In the iPhone and Android apps it keeps recording with the phone in a pocket. The web app records while it's open on screen.

Live team map

Managers see where each clocked-in rep is right now, and can look back at any session's route afterwards.

Territories

Draw an area on the map and assign reps to it. Get an approximate house count and a neighborhood profile (household income, home values and the age of homes) from US Census data.

Stats and leaderboard

Knock counts and outcomes for every rep, a team leaderboard, and a history of every session.

Leads, built in

Turn a good conversation into a lead in a simple built-in list, then export it to CSV when you need it somewhere else.

On the web now. In the app stores soon.

Use TurfSignal in the web browser on your phone, tablet or computer today. The iPhone and Android apps are coming soon to the App Store and Google Play.

Owner lookup

Know who you're talking to at the door.

Standing at a house? Tap it to see that property's owner and key property facts from public property records. You can greet the homeowner by name and skip the awkward "is the owner home?"

Phone numbers on the Do Not Call registry are clearly flagged, and the app's call and text buttons are turned off for them.

  • One house at a time, the one in front of you
  • Only for reps an admin has turned it on for
  • No name search, no area or bulk lookups, no lists
  • Owner records aren't exportable. They reach a lead only if a rep chooses to add them.
  • Every lookup is logged, so admins can see who looked up which house

Owner lookup is for a conversation at the door. It isn't a lead list or a data product, and it must not be used for credit, employment, tenant or insurance decisions.

Reps and managers

One app, two jobs

For reps

  • Clock in and go. Your route draws itself.
  • Log a door with a tap and add a note.
  • Get warned before you knock a house twice.
  • Know the owner's name before you ring, if your admin turns it on.
  • See your own stats, your routes and where you rank.

For managers

  • Draw territories and assign reps to them.
  • See your team live on the map while they're clocked in.
  • Review session history and the route of every shift.
  • Compare reps on the leaderboard.
  • Keep leads in one list and export them to CSV.
  • Admins choose which reps can use owner lookup.

Location privacy

Tracking only while clocked in.

TurfSignal records a rep's location between clock-in and clock-out, and at no other time. It's there to draw the route and show the live team map, not to follow anyone home.

  • Clocking out, or signing out of the app, stops location recording.
  • A forgotten shift closes on its own after 12 hours, or after 2 hours without location updates.
  • Only your company's managers and admins see where a rep is. Other reps don't.
  • Reps can see their own routes.
  • After 90 days, location points are deleted. A shift keeps only its times, distance and door count.
